Van Loon's Cube

It sounds incredible, but nevertheless true that if everybody in this world of ours were 1.82 meters tall by .45 meters wide by .3 meters thick, then 8 billion of us could fit into a cube measuring 1.28 kilometers by 1.28 kilometers by 1.28 kilometers.

Instead though, every 197 million square miles of the surface of the earth has been transformed by the 8 billion of us including me and you. This has been both beautiful and devastating for our 8.7 million kindred species.
